Professor of English Education Cindy O’Donnell-Allen and CSU English alumna Molly Robbins are leading a 3-part webinar series, co-sponsored by the National Council of Teachers of English and the National Writing Project, called “Intentional Writing: Principles and Practices for Challenging Times.”

The one-hour, standalone sessions will take place on May 13, 20, and 27 (all Tuesdays, 5:30-6:30pm, MT). The series is free and open to any educator, even those who aren’t members of NCTE or NWP. Sessions are primarily aimed at cultivating teachers’ own reflective writing in concert with their overall well-being. Classroom connections will be made evident as well.

About the presenters

Cindy O’Donnell-Allen is a professor in the English Department at Colorado State University, where she also directs the CSU Writing Project. She has been active in NCTE and the National Writing Project since beginning her career as a high school English teacher in 1987. She has written numerous journal articles, chapters, digital resources, and books, including Pose, Wobble, Flow: A Liberatory Approach to Literacy Learning in All Classrooms (with Antero Garcia), which is now in its second edition. She co-authors the column “Genius Moves” for Voices from the Middle with Molly Robbins.

Molly Robbins is the director of Cherokee Trail High School’s Peer Tutoring Center in Aurora, Colorado, and coaches teachers there. She has been a member of NCTE since 1999 and has been a teacher consultant with the National Writing Project since 2005. Molly has been a leader and facilitator with the sustainable teaching movement since 2017 and currently leads this work with the Denver Writing Project. She has worked with Dr. Nicole Mirra on her Digital Democratic Dialogue (3D) work and was featured in her book, Civics for the World to Come: Committing to Democracy in Every ClassroomShe co-authors the quarterly column “Genius Moves” for NCTE’s Voices from the Middle with her good friend, Dr. Cindy O’Donnell-Allen.
